As I Breathe

Picture
I knew you since the day I breathed my first air,
Since the time, when I was looking at the sky
And with naivety of child hoped to fly
One day. You were with me, when in dispair
I tried to end this... But you held the chair
And, cutting ropes, you said, "All will be fine..."
Yes, those were your lips that I kissed the first time
And of you I asked God in the silent prayers.
The years went I thought that only there
We'll meet, where neither earth, nor skies exist.
But gentle breeze once touched my greying hair,
I raised my eyes, and not a very least
Of doubts held me. I am yours, I swear,
And you are mine. I know that, as I breathe.
