I Purchased Happiness

Picture
I purchased happiness, because I knew the way
To markets, where it is being sold,
And had the pure currency to pay
For every day of purple mixed with gold.
I climbed up to the Sacred Mountain top,
And when the Stars were properly aligned,
I poured my past into a clear cup
And showed it to the eyes of the Divine.
The Light appeared, passing through my heart,
And Cupid spoke to me with gentle voice,
'I saw your deeds, and think that on my mart
You earned the prize, which nothing else destroys.
So, take this bow and arrow of my art
And shoot into the male of your choice.'
