Our Eyes Had Met

Picture
When, for the first time, our eyes had met,
The lightning from the heavens stroke between us,
And with the smiling face appeared Venus,
She took my heart and put it in your hand.
I mumbled, "It was nice to meet you," and
With feigned indifference withdrew my shaking fingers.
I was afraid that while this moment lingers,
You read my thoughts, for I cannot pretend...
Why is it so, that more than any secret
We hide the sweetest feeling in the world?
The life becomes so sorrowful, and bittered
Are days, on which, on our lips, untold
It stays...
Until once, by the kiss bewildered,
It slips out, just for seconds uncontrolled...
